1 Year of Marriage

We both can hardly believe one year has gone by. It went by so fast! Its so fun to think about and look back on the last year. We have had so many good fun times. I enjoy being able to spend so much time with Jordan. It rocks! He is my best friend and I am so grateful to have him in my life. For our anniversary since we were going to Jamaica the next week, we didn’t do anything spectacular, but it turned out to be super fun!

First we went to our favourite breakfast place, Coras for some delicious food. Then we came home and chilled for a while after being extremely stuffed.

Then we went rollerblading by the Glenmore Reservoir. I had only gone running there a few times and only went partway. But this time we just kept following the path, which maybe was a bad idea because it went on forever!!! But we had fun even though we were tired and saw some wonderful view and went down some very steep hills. It was memorable :)

That evening we went out for dinner at a Greek restaurant called KEFI. It was really cute and charming. The food was great too. In the middle of our dinner they started to play some music and a few people went and danced in the middle of the restaurant and then smashed a plate at the end! Classic..... haha it was cool.

We ended the night by going to see the movie “The Help”. I finished reading the book that same day, so I was so excited to go, but of course, the book was a million times better! But still a great movie.

I can’t wait for many many more years to come!!!

Crypt Lake- Waterton

I always say that I love hiking, and I do, but I rarely ever get my things together and plan a hike. Thankfully Jordan planned one this summer! It was a 17km hike which makes up for all the other times I didn’t go hiking, and it had a lake at the top! What a reward! We went down to Waterton with Jordan’s parents and his sister Amanda. We had to take a ferry out to the starting point and from there the fun began! And the whining... haha

I wanted to get a good workout so I tried to carry our pack most of the way, but it was so far up, that I eventually passed it onto Jordan. But I was impressed with myself for carrying it for so long. Unfortunately our subway sandwiches got totally squished and soggy, but we were able to salvage some of it and still got a good lunch.

Once we got to the lake, me and the girls were tired and wanted to just sit and eat our lunch before heading back down. But Jordan and Kelly decided to hike around the lake after spotting some snow further down. We get enough snow in the Winter, I just want to forget about it in the summer!

Smithfest 2011

August long weekend I had the chance to attend my very first Smithfest. I always wanted to be a part of it ever since I started dating Jordan. It looks like so much fun! And it was. There was so many great people to hang out with and talk to. We had a family Jeopardy night (that Jenny created) which was followed by a dance party, went rafting down the river, watched a firework show, had a fireside, tied blankets, and visited the Calgary temple site. It was a lot of fun.

Most of the photos from the reunion were taken by Lisa Gough
